Becky Bakes: Santa's Perfect Cookie 'White Chocolate Cranberry Cookies, with Orange'!

Could this recipe feel any more festive? I've always wanted to make the perfect seasonal cookie, and I've seen the white chocolate/cranberry duo floating aroud a lot, but I just knew adding a little kick of orange would make it just that little more festive! The perfect treat for Santa and his helpers this year!

I really love a good fruity cookie. This is definitely it, Santa approved!

What you'll need to make these cookies is:

  • 400g of white chocolate, broken into large pieces
  • One large orange. (with the zest grated)
  • 70/80g of dried cranberries
  • 250g of self raising flour
  • 320g of sugar
  • 1 large egg and an extra yolk.
  • 170g of melted butter or butter alternative.
  • 1tsp of baking powder.

This follows a general cookie recipe, with adjustments here and there so,

  1. Preheat oven to 160 degrees celsius.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder into one bowl and set aside
  3. Add the melted butter, sugar and eggs (beaten) and beat until light and frothy.
  4. Mix dry ingredients into the butter, sugar and egg combination
  5. Add the juice of half an orange into the mix bit by bit, stirring thoroughly.
  6. Add the zest of the large orange into the mixture
  7. If needed, add one to two table spoons of flour into the mixture, to ensure it is not too wet.
  8. Mix the white chocolate and cranberries thoroughly into the mixture.
  9. Place small amounts of mixture on to prepared trays (ensuring they aren't too close to each other, these biscuits spread!)
  10. Bake for 15-17 minutes until lightly golden,
  11. Allow to cool on tray for 4-5 minutes before moving onto wire racks to cool.
  12. Leave on a plate for Santa on Christmas Eve!

  1. Great recipe! I don't eat eggs and dairy, however, I can easily replace them with some other ingredients. Thank you for sharing! :)

  2. Oh my lordy, these cookies look amazing! I can justify making a whole batch for myself because they have cranberries and orange in and that's healthy, right?! ;)
